I ordered a carbon fiber hood from CarID -- BIGGEST mistake I have ever made. On their main page, and every product page they tout "quick and easy" returns, and a 30 day return policy, however, trying to return a product is a NIGHTMARE.

The hood I received was packaged exceptionally well, and the package undamaged. When opened, the hood appeared to in used condition, and clearly had been mounted on a car. It was severely scratched, the edges were chipped/knicked up, and the vents/screens in the hood were damaged. In addition to that, the are material defects in the hood itself including waves in the carbon fiber, and SEVER fitment issues -- for example, the hood is tight on the back corners, but there is a 3/4" gap in the middle where you can see right down to the engine.

Up by the front, it sit 1/2" higher than the fenders, but can't go any lower because it is already hitting the headlights. I filed the return claim 5 business days after I received the hood. I have spent over 5 hours on the phone, in chat, and in emails with 6 different people, all in a call center in India, or overseas somewhere -- and none of them understand cars, so they can't comprehend why the issues I have are issues. 4 of the 6 people have given me 4 different responses as to why they are denying the return.

The first person asked me to email pics, which I sent almost 20. The second person said they were accepting the return, and asked me to call the 800 number to coordinate -- and then it went down hill... I have received 2 responses with return policy rules that differ drastically from what is listed on their website, 1 person told me the manufacturer denied the claim, however, I talked to the manufacturer, and it seems they never talked to CarID. One supervisor YELLED at me for 5 minutes, implying I was a bad customer for wasting her time with a claim for a defective $700 hood.

When I told her it would cost over $1000 for a body shop to fix SOME of the issues, she told me "that is what I should do". DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Reason of review: Damaged or defective.

Monetary Loss: $784.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

CARiD Cons: Company does not operate in good faith, Length of time to speak to someone, Lack of communication, Poor customer service policy, Blaming the customer and manufacturer.
