New ReviewerAbout a year ago I bought a sct tuner for my pickup. It read an error code when I plugged it in to my pickup.
I called carid customer service for help and was told to plug it back into my pickup even though I had already given them the error code number. After I plugged it in and read them the same error code number I was told since I plugged it into my pickup it voided my opportunity to send it back to them and now I had to deal with bully dog who is the same company. I had purchased the sct bdx tuner because it said it can receive updates through wifi since we only own MacBooks which aren't supported by their tuners. I contacted bully dog and was put on a waiting list for a call back that took 3 hours to be told that I can't send it back to them for an update either and was told that I must get access to a windows computer and call back.
Well I've gone to my neighbors 3 times now and tried to call but I can't sit at their house for over 3 hours. When they finally called I asked if I could make an appointment to call them and was told no I would have to wait my turn like everyone else. I contacted carid for help and was told that there was nothing they would do. I would highly recommend never doing business with carid.
If you receive a product from them you better hope that it works because if you open it even though customer service tells you to it voids their warranty. For now I still have a $400 paperweight.
User's recommendation: Autoanything.
Monetary Loss: $400.
Preferred solution: Let them fix the problem with a brand new product that never worked .
CARiD Cons: Zero help with warranty.
